Frequently asked questions
- What can GearFlow design?
- Spur, helical, herringbone, internal, and bevel gears; rack & pinion mechanisms; and threaded fasteners (bolts, nuts, and threaded rod) with several head types.
- Which export formats are supported?
- GearFlow exports STL (mesh, for 3D printing), 3MF (open 3D-manufacturing format), and JSON (parameters). All three formats work for every gear type and thread.
- Where are my saved projects stored?
- On your device only. GearFlow does not use the cloud or any account. Projects are included in your normal device backup if you have one enabled.
- Does GearFlow need an internet connection?
- No. GearFlow works fully offline. All calculations and 3D geometry run on your device.
- Does GearFlow collect any data about me?
- No. There is no analytics, advertising, tracking, or account system. See our Privacy Policy for details.
- Can I change the app's language?
- Yes. GearFlow is available in English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and Russian. Choose your language in Settings.
- How do I move my work to another device?
- Export your designs as files (STL, 3MF, or JSON) and transfer them using AirDrop, iCloud Drive, email, or any method you prefer. JSON files can be re-imported into GearFlow.
