Privacy Policy

In short: GearFlow does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. The app has no analytics, no advertising, no user accounts, and no network connections. Everything you create stays on your device, under your control.

1. Who we are

GearFlow is a gear and thread design application for macOS (coming to iOS), published by NoordForge Labs, a sole proprietorship registered in the Netherlands. For any privacy question, contact us at support@gearflow.app.

2. Data we collect

None. GearFlow does not collect personal information of any kind. We do not ask you to create an account, we do not request your name, email, or location, and we do not include any analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking technology.

3. Data stored on your device

GearFlow saves a small amount of information locally on your device so the app works the way you expect between sessions:

App preferences — such as your chosen interface language and 3D viewer settings.
Saved projects — gear and thread designs you choose to save inside the app.
Custom printer profiles — 3D-printer settings you create.

This data is stored only on your device (using the operating system's standard local storage). It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. It is included in your device's own backups (iCloud or local backup) if you have those enabled — that backup is managed by Apple under Apple's terms, not by us. Deleting the app removes this data.

4. Files you export

GearFlow can export your designs as STL, 3MF, and JSON files. These files are written only to the location you choose through the system save dialog. GearFlow does not upload exported files anywhere. If you share an exported file using the system share sheet, that action is handled by the operating system and any service you select.

5. Network use

GearFlow does not connect to the internet. It performs all calculations and 3D geometry generation locally on your device. The app contains no servers, no APIs, and no remote dependencies.

6. Third-party software

GearFlow has no third-party runtime dependencies. It is built entirely with Apple's own frameworks and includes no advertising or analytics SDKs.

7. Children's privacy

GearFlow is a general-purpose engineering tool. It collects no data from anyone, including children.

8. Your rights

Because GearFlow holds no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on our side. All data the app uses is local to your device and fully under your control. Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws, you retain all your rights — they simply require no action from us, as we are not a data controller for any personal data.

9. Changes to this policy

If GearFlow ever changes in a way that affects privacy, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
